Cancer is a widespread disease across the entire world and one of the leading causes of death. The number of deaths recorded by this disease is not going down and at least 1 million people in the United States get diagnosed with it.
However, one thing that is very important for anyone to know is that diet is a great contributing factor to that. What you eat in general can reflect either very well or very poorly on your body.
Here are 8 foods to eat if you don’t want cancer to survive in your body.
1. Drink Alkaline Water
The main job of Alkaline water is fighting against the acid that is usually found in your bloodstream. Certain studies did show that if the water you drink is high in terms of pH levels, it can actually raise your metabolism as well. This helps your body tremendously as it allows it to properly absorb the nutrients that you consume.
Cancer cells are great at thriving in an acidic environment; drinking Alkaline water would essentially starve them and eventually kill them all together. The best course of action is aiming for water with 7.5 or 8 in terms of pH levels.
2. Steamed Broccoli
Broccoli is truly a powerful vegetable; it is absolutely packed with very great nutrients as well as fiber. There is no better confirmation needed than the fact that it has even been called “cancer-preventing.”
However, the way you make it can change everything. A study found that if you microwave it, you actually lose over 80% of the proper nutrients. That is why you should only steam it if your goal is to kill cancer cells or prevent them from forming.
Berries of all kinds are packed with healthy vitamins that are good for your body, such as fiber, and on top of that, they are a great antioxidant source.
A scoop of blackberries, blueberries, and strawberries in your daily diet has been shown to improve your metabolism and protect your system from cancer cells. Not only that, but they also contain vitamins C and E.
Avocados are a great snack because not only are they delicious, but they are also healthy. Similar to berries, avocados are packed with antioxidants and anti-inflammatory agents that are the perfect fix for cancer cells.
If you don’t eat a lot of salmon, then it is time for you to start. Some studies showed that those who consume salmon are 1/3rd less likely to develop different types of blood cancer.
As for women, consuming fatty fish was linked to low numbers of diagnoses when it comes to endometrial cancer.
Garlic is also considered a superfood. Unusual seeing that it isn’t a vegetable or a fruit, but it is extremely rich and can easily fight off cancer cells. This is because it contains sulfur compounds that could enhance the natural defense responses of the immune system when it comes to cancer.
Artichokes are one of the foods that are quite healthy but unfortunately underrated. They are packed with nutrients and agents that completely kill cancer cells.
8. Leafy greens
Last but not least, greens are a great source of nutrients, and they can be very helpful in minimizing the chance of getting cancer.
They are rich in minerals, antioxidants, and vitamins. You should make no exception when it comes to leafy greens and add whatever you can find to your diet because they are cancer-fighting foods.
